Living Yoga in Every Moment — A Heart Full of Gratitude 💞
Oct 03, 2025
This past week has been nothing short of magical—a time of reflection, connection, and celebration that has filled my heart to the brim. It began with the gentle thrill of my first flight to the UK, a journey that reminded me of the vastness of the world and the tender spaces where our hearts truly feel at home. Travel, even in its smallest form, teaches us presence. It teaches us to breathe through transitions, to honor the unknown, and to meet each moment as it comes—lessons that yoga has quietly instilled in me over the years.
Returning to teach at Yoga-Life, the studio I founded all those years ago, was like stepping back into a living dream. Walking through the familiar doors, feeling the soft hum of breath and movement, I was reminded that yoga is not just a practice—it is a way of living. Patanjali’s teachings speak of abhyasa (consistent practice) and vairagya (detachment). In this moment, I realized that every class I have ever taught, every student I have guided, every lesson I have learned alongside them, has been an expression of these principles. Each breath, each movement, each mindful pause carries the potential to bring us back to our true selves.
This week was also deeply personal and tender. Hugging my youngest son for the first time after my operation was a sacred reminder of the fragility and strength of life. The heart—both literally and metaphorically—reminds us that resilience and vulnerability can exist simultaneously. In that embrace, I felt ahimsa, the yogic principle of non-harming—not just toward others, but toward ourselves, honoring our journey, our healing, and our capacity to receive love. It was a reminder that life itself is a practice of yoga: of showing up, of breathing, of opening our hearts fully despite uncertainty.
Amidst these personal milestones, we also celebrated the re-launch of the Living Yoga Community. Watching this family of like-hearted souls grow, connect, and share their journeys together fills me with awe and gratitude. Each new member brings a unique energy, a new story, a new heartbeat into our collective practice. In yoga, we learn that we are all connected through sangha—the community that supports, uplifts, and reflects us. This community is a living expression of that teaching. Here, we practice together, rise together, and remind each other that we are never alone on our path.
Yoga teaches us that life is a dance between effort and surrender, strength and softness, action and stillness. This week, I felt all of these qualities intertwine: the excitement of travel, the groundedness of returning home, the vulnerability of reconnecting with my body and heart after surgery, and the joy of witnessing our community bloom. These experiences remind me that yoga is not confined to the mat or the studio—it is embodied in our hearts, our interactions, and the life we create every day.
Gratitude flows through every part of this week—the love of my son, the warmth of friends, the support of our community, and the deep, abiding connection to the practice that has guided me through so many chapters of life. Gratitude is a yoga in itself, a practice of opening the heart and acknowledging the gifts that surround us, no matter how small. In recognizing these gifts, we find the strength to face challenges, the grace to move gently through life, and the courage to keep showing up for ourselves and others.
As I reflect on this week, I feel a profound sense of presence. Each breath, each smile, each shared moment is a thread in the tapestry of life—a tapestry woven with love, intention, and mindful living. My heart is full, my spirit lifted, and my commitment to living yoga in every heartbeat more alive than ever.
Here’s to more shared moments, growth, and conscious living—together, in love, in breath, in presence, and in grace. May we continue to rise, gently yet powerfully, and may our hearts always find their true rhythm.
With a heart wide open,
Wenche❤️🔥🙏
